Little Dark Ploys

There’s this song by a Christian artist that really resonates with me. He says he spent some time down in the shadows and is still adjusting to the light. It’s comforting to me to think that we can come to Christ as we are.

Especially considering how dark I feel usually.

The darkness is currently attempting to distance me from my family. They throw all sorts of things at me to attack my integrity as a mother. It feels like wandering through life covered in toxic sludge.

You’re pumping gas, you’re buying a lotto ticket, and you’re just dripping with sludge. And everyone can see you, and they’re all disgusted. That’s what it feels like once shame has done its dealing.

Then you don’t want to touch anyone, or talk to them because you feel contagious.

The darkness wants that. They want you feeling gross and disgusting so that you’ll shy away from God.

If you think of it that way, it’s really easy to say screw off, for lack of a better phrase.

There’s nothing they can do to separate us from His love nor will there ever be.
